Winter can be hard for many pawrents because as it gets colder, it gets a little hard to keep our pups entertained or active. There are fewer dog-friendly places available and the idea of being out in the cold can be a bit unappealing. For this reason, we have thought of a few ideas that can help you and your pup stay entertained during these cold days.
Movie Night
Make some popcorn for you and your doggie (remember no salt or butter for them!) and snuggle up to a dog-related movie. While not all dogs may pay attention to the whole thing, they will surely enjoy the snack.
Play With Bubbles
One of the easiest ways to entertain a dog is blowing bubbles. It's important to keep our pups active, and having them chase bubbles is not only simple but fun!
Set Up a Puppy Play Date
During winter, dog-friendly spots are limited, so why not plan a puppy play date from the comfort of your own home. This will keep your dog entertained while working on his or her social skills.
Winter Hike
While you and your fur baby may need to bundle up more during the winter, taking them out on a hike lets them explore new places and learn about new scents!
Dog Friendly Cafe or Indoor Dog Park
We love using tools like BringFido.com to find dog friendly cafe's and bars in our area. We have even been pleasantly surprised to find some restaurants that have dog friendly indoor space as well!
